The Memory Craft 8000 (1990) was the first to offer professional style embroidery to the home market. The first computerized home machine was The Memory 7 (introduced in 1979). Janome was the first company to develop a computerized sewing machine for home use. Janome was founded in 1921 in Tokyo, Japan, and since its founding it has been a globally trusted brand. JANOME CUSTOMIZER 11000 UPDATES HOW TO
Not many people nowadays even want to learn how to sew their own creations, but if you’re one of the rare few there are so many advantages to having your own sewing machine. Looking to finish your projects quickly? By using a Janome machine, you can quickly finish your designs and have the advantage of precision and speed. Soo.I guess my question is there any machine with with a built in stipple/quilting stitch with a deep throat? I can't afford/justify spending big $$ (over 5K is out of my budget). It doesn’t matter what you’re looking to create, getting a Janome sewing, embroidery, or quilting machine is a great investment.

I have the Janome 9700 but I rarely use the embroidery function so to upgrade to another sew/embroidery machine does not make sense at all. I drooled over the 12000 this past weekend but came to me senses and looked at the 11000SE. Oh well.Thank you for a very informative post! I would love to to have a machine that I could stipple on a quilt without it being an embroidery design.a "built in" stipple. I found I'm not too big on embroidering pictures on stuff. I got the new Horizon 7700 for my everyday quilting and piecing because of the 11" arm space so I don't really use the 11000SE much at all anymore. It's really cheap, like 20 bucks, it's discontinued so you can get it on Ebay. I use the Customizer for monogramming as well as using it to search through all the different subdirectories of embroidery CD's I have on my hard drive. If you put the design in the sewing machine you can only resize it about 10% total. I'd get a copy of the 11000 Customizer program because it allows you to alter the sizes of embroidery files and then send them to the machine. Make sure you do all the updates from the Janome website.

The interaction with your computer and the sewing machine is pretty easy. It is a fine sewing machine with all the bells and whistles you could possibly want, and the price has come down alot since a new high end machine is coming out in the fall.

Make sure you have a sturdy table to put the machine on when embroidering, because it tends to vibrate(as all embroidery machines do when they are embroidering full speed) so that when the machine runs over stitches more than once they are lined up. I use the embroidery feature to do quilting motifs on runners and such. You really can't manipulate the spacing on the stippling and it's really close together squishing the quilt too much for my taste. I bought the 11000SE because of the stippling feature, because I was new to quilting and thought, wow, I won't have to stipple.
